Parallels and numbered cards
Similar-looking parallels can have different print runs and finishes. Confirm the manufacturer, set, parallel, and any printed serial numbering before comparing examples or entering your submission.
Vintage and modern condition
Look for rounded corners, edge chipping, creases, surface marks, and off-center printing. Age and rarity do not determine condition, and a recently opened card is not automatically mint.
Grading describes condition. It does not guarantee a particular grade, selling price, or increase in value. Compare the costs with your reason for grading before submitting.

Player, year, and set
Enter the player or subject, release year, manufacturer, set, and card number. Include the insert or parallel name when applicable so similar cards remain easy to distinguish.
Autographs and memorabilia
Card-condition grading is not a promise of separate autograph authentication. Contact GSM first about signed, altered, unusually thick, or memorabilia cards to confirm what service is appropriate.
A record before shipping
Keep your own photos of valuable cards and packaging. Protect each card with a sleeve and suitable holder, include your submission information, and follow the shipping instructions in your account.

What does sports-card grading cost?
Standard grading is $25 per card. Rush adds $20 per card, for a $45 total. The pricing page shows current service availability and optional prepaid grading. You review the amount due before paying.
Will grading make my card more valuable?
Not necessarily. Resale depends on the exact card, condition, grade, grading company, and buyer demand. Compare completed sales of genuinely comparable cards and include grading, shipping, and selling costs in your decision.
Can I submit more than one sport together?
You can add multiple cards to a submission. Choose one service level, Standard or Rush, for that submission. For cards needing different service levels, create separate submissions.
How do I follow my cards after submitting?
Use your GSM account to view your submission and its status. Once a certificate is published, its public lookup lets you check the recorded card details and grade. Keep your shipping tracking information as well.
